Born and bred New Yorker? I’m a Los Angeles transplant — a California girl with a weakness for New York. I’ve been here for six years.
Where would you have your birthday party? My friends own Decatur Street Inn, the bed and breakfast. They’ve just prettied up their garden for spring. I’d love to have a party there.
Favorite brunch spot: Peaches HotHouse in Bedstuy. They source locally grown organic foods and Alyssa knows my order by heart. (She’s awesome.)
Favorite New York City read: New York Magazine. I read it back to front so I start out with The Approval Matrix.
Most looking forward to this summer: Dancing in Fort Greene Park during the Soul Summit Sunday parties.
Where do you take your parents when they come to visit? Our next trip will be to the lovely High Line.
Your NYC style: Urban Outfitters has picked up some great lines like Cooperative, Ecote & byCORPUS. Then there’s Barney’s CO-OP next door. Both super convenient in Brooklyn shopping.
If you went to a café to get work done, where would you go? I’m actually looking for a solid one, so I will be scouring Scoop St!
NYC dance class: Alvin Ailey on 57th & 7th.
How do you decorate your apartment? I decorate with vintage objects that I source for my store but can’t bear to part with. With larger pieces, you have to be ready to get creative — remove legs from a sofa or even move things in through the window!
Best concert you’ve seen in NY: I’m going to see the Fleet Foxes with orchestra seats tonight. I am almost certain this is going to do it.
If you had an afternoon to spend at a museum, which would you pick? The New Museum. You can wind down at Birdbath Cafe downstairs after you’ve walked the place.
